| A quick walk around Montreat during the first week of November can leave me in awe if I’m in the right frame of mind, and this year, that’s been particularly true. This fall, God has presented a palette of colors that seems to have no boundaries. A bit later than usual, and perhaps with pent-up determination, the trees commenced with their autumn transition, showing off their shades of shades of gold and red, orange and green without ceremony, as if to say so matter-of-factly, “This is what we do…” |

Acclaimed author Brian McLaren is returning to Montreat in 2027 for Discovering Renewal! Conveniently scheduled right after Easter, this event invites pastors and other lay leaders to engage in a time of intentional Sabbath through everyday activities like hiking, baking, yoga, fishing, and more. Evening events include intimate gatherings where you’ll be able to connect with other participants and leaders alike. Come, take part in this special community and find nourishment for your soul! We are excited to announce a new creative retreat coming to Montreat in February! Hand and Hearth is an opportunity to slow down, experiment, and simply make while in the company of other artists. Each participant will choose one featured class and spend six hours immersed in creative instruction each day. In the evenings, we’ll gather around the fireplace in Assembly Inn for conversation, artistic demonstrations, and a chance to enjoy the warmth of the hearth. Registration is open!
