Celebrate the Fourth of July with Montreat!

Fourth of July Celebration - You're Invited! Join us for Montreat Conference Center’s annual Fourth of July Celebration, an event which welcomes Montreat friends from all over the country.  Throughout the day, we will offer a variety of events and activities for the whole family. See highlights of a few of our favorite events below, or visit our website for the full schedule.

Fourth of July Parade - The Fourth of July parade starts at 10:30 am and processes from Appalachian Way, down Lookout Rd. The theme of this year’s parade is Montreat Super Strong, and 2025’s parade marshal is Jane Bannerman.  If you would like to participate in the parade, applications are due by Friday, June 27. You can pick up a paper copy of the application at Anderson Auditorium, the Montreat post office, or The Montreat Store, or you can complete your application online using the link below.

Afternoon Activities - There are a variety of ways to enjoy your day following the Fourth of July parade: Yard games and recreational activities will be open to the public for free starting at 2:00 pm, the Currie Craft Center and Sally Jones Pottery will host its annual silent auction from 2:30-5:00 pm, and old-fashioned games, such as the greasy pole climb and hog call competition, will take place on Moore Center Field beginning at 3:00 pm. Big Circle Mountain Dance - Big circle mountain dancing invites Montreaters of all ages to join in on a fun-filled evening of group dancing. This special Montreat tradition is “called” by the Bannerman family and features live music from the Stoney Creek Boys. The Fourth of July dance will begin at 7:00 pm on the Patricia Cornwell Tennis Courts.
